Central Heating Plant annual shut down: May 20-24
A message from Facilities and Campus Services
The Wake Forest University Central Heating Plant annual shutdown for maintenance and inspections will begin on Monday, May 20 at 3 p.m. The steam outage will disable building heating and domestic hot water systems campus-wide. The boilers will be restarted on Friday, May 24. Barring any delays, steam pressure will be back to normal by 6 p.m. on Friday.
During the Central Heating Plant annual shutdown, phone calls made to extension 4255 and online work order requests will not be responded to after 4:30 p.m.
If you should have a non-emergency issue between 4:30 p.m. and 8 a.m. during the week, contact University Police Dispatch at extension 336-758-5591. In case of an emergency, call Wake Forest University Police at 336-758-5911.

An update on demonstrations and interim policy information
Early this morning, the University provided notice to a small number of students remaining on Manchester Plaza that the demonstration was in violation of agreed-upon terms and violated University policy by failing to comply with the directions of University officials. These students were notified that they would be subject to interim suspension should they fail to follow instructions to immediately disperse. The students cooperated and Manchester Plaza is now clear.
The University’s early morning action was taken to minimize the risk to students, both those directly involved and bystanders, and to avoid further disruption to the academic mission, final exams and planned campus activities.
For these same reasons, the University is instituting an interim policy that designates the time, place and manner of acceptable demonstrations for the remainder of the academic year to only the following:
Place: Designated area of Poteat Field
Time: 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
Manner: No sound or amplification devices. No chalking anywhere on campus. No tents or other structures. All other university policies remain applicable.
This interim policy is effective immediately through May 21, 2024.
The University remains committed to upholding Wake Forest’s institutional values and acting to maintain safety and preserve the academic mission.

2024-25 Wake Forest Fellows announced
Eleven 2024 grads will return to their alma mater as Wake Forest Fellows. They will work throughout the campus community, including in the offices of the Provost, Campus Life and the Dean of the College.
Since 2008, the Wake Forest Fellows program has provided exceptional Wake Forest College graduates with the opportunity to work in higher education administration for a year. Each fellow is serving as a full-time Wake Forest staff member, starting July 1. In addition to working with top administrators, the fellows will participate in leadership activities and interact with faculty, staff and students to learn about the inner workings of higher education.
