The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for our area (Forsyth County) until 9 p.m. today. A tornado watch means tornadoes are possible in and near the watch area.

A $10 million gift from an anonymous donor will enable first-generation students in Wake Forest University’s Magnolia Scholars program to substantially reduce their debt.

Wake Forest is sponsoring free flu shots for all faculty, staff and retirees in October and November. Spouses and dependent children (at least eight years old), who are enrolled in the University’s BlueCross BlueShield medical plan, also are welcome, but are not required to register. Those with a Deacon OneCard are asked to bring it. All supplies are latex-free, and egg-free vaccines are available upon request.
