Dear Wake Forest Faculty, Staff and Students,

Commencement season is a time of celebration and new beginnings for those about to graduate. It is also a time to say thank you and bid farewell to many of our friends, colleagues and mentors who have made Wake Forest University their home.

Seven new representatives elected to the Staff Advisory Council

The seven new SAC representatives are: Jennifer Abbinett (Human Resources), Amy Ciaccia (Financial & Accounting Service), Blake Edmunds (Athletics), Sharon Fortner (University Police), Nancy Metcalf (Center for Global Programs and Studies), Tracy Pinto (Registrar’s Office), Amber Wall (Residence Life & Housing), Rachel Weaver (Information Systems) and Craig Zakrzewski (Athletics).

Vice president for campus life named

Penny RueWake Forest has appointed Dr. Penny Rue as vice president for campus life. Rue, who currently serves as vice chancellor for student affairs at the University of California San Diego (UC San Diego), is nationally known for her creative leadership in strengthening campus communities.

Rue will oversee most facets of student life with broad responsibility for the well-being and safety of students and their engagement outside the classroom. The departments she will supervise include: Residence Life and Housing, Student Services, Campus Life, Campus Recreation, Student Health Service, the Office of the Chaplain and University Police.

She will assume her new duties mid-July.
