Weather update: Police issue “All Clear;” campus encouraged to monitor weather

This announcement was emailed to students, faculty and staff on the evening of April 15 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

The University Police Department issued an All Clear announcement at 5:45 p.m. today, April 15, after issuing an earlier severe weather announcement.  It was issued through the University’s Wake Alert emergency notification system.


Reminder: Test of Wake Alert system set for Feb. 16

This announcement was emailed to students, faculty and staff on Feb. 15 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

This is a reminder that students, faculty and staff will receive test messages starting at 9 a.m. Feb. 16 when Wake Forest conducts a test of the University’s Wake Alert emergency notification system.  The test will not require any action by those who receive the test messages.


Sexual assault reported on campus

The University Police Department is investigating a report that two groups of men were seen arguing in Parking Lot N tonight and that one of the men appeared to have a handgun. No shots were fired, no one has been reported as injured. The man was not seen pointing the gun at anyone.

The incident, which occurred in the parking lot between Kitchin and Poteat Residence halls, was reported to University Police at 9:27 p.m. tonight. Some students saw the incident and contacted University Police.

The University Police Department said that the men fled the parking lot and have not been found on campus. Officers are patrolling the campus, but have not found the individuals on campus. Their identities are not known.

If anyone has information that may assist in the investigation, they are asked by University Police to call 336-758-5911, immediately.
