Wake Forest experiencing major phone system disruption

This message was emailed to students, faculty and staff tonight, Dec. 1:

Wake Forest is experiencing a major disruption tonight with the University’s telephone system.

In general, calls made to University telephones from off-campus phones and cell phones are not getting through to the University.

To reach University Police from a cell phone or from off campus, call 336-759-0443.  On campus, using a University phone (land line), call 5911 or 5591. University Police can be reached also by emailing dispatch@wfu.edu or using the LiveSafe app.

A campus phone (land line) can be used to call another campus phone.

The University’s Information Systems Department is aware of the phone service disruption and is working to correct the situation tonight.  IS has been told that the phone disruption is related to a larger phone system disruption in North Carolina.

A message will be emailed to students, faculty and staff tonight when regular phone service is restored.
