We are saddened to announce that Dean Emeritus and retired Professor of Law John “Don” Scarlett died July 10. He served as dean of the School of Law from 1979 to 1989.


Meiburg appointed to NC Environmental Management Commission

On July 7, Gov. Roy Cooper appointed Stan Meiburg, Director of the SustainabilityGraduate Programs, to serve on the North Carolina Environmental Management Commission. Meiburg fills the seat requiring special training in hydrology, water pollution control, and the effects of water pollution.


Mike Ford’s Retirement Message

At a reception in his honor on June 28, Mike Ford delivered a farewell message to a crowd gathered in Benson University Center. Ford retired from Wake Forest in June after 36 years as student life administrator and campus leader.


Barbee Oakes named chief diversity officer at UNLV

After three decades as a champion of diversity and inclusion at Wake Forest, Dr. Barbee Oakes will become the Chief Diversity Officer at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) on September 1.
