Jon Roethling named new director of Reynolda Gardens

Reynolda Gardens of Wake Forest University has hired Jon Roethling as its new director. Roethling steps into the leadership role of the renowned historic gardens and landscape of R.J. and Katharine Reynolds’s former estate after serving as curator of grounds for the Mariana Qubein Botanical Gardens at High Point University. He will begin as director of Reynolda Gardens Dec. 3.


Dean Gillespie announces Erica Still’s appointment as associate dean; other transitions

I am delighted to announce that Erica Still, Associate Professor of English, has been appointed Associate Dean for Faculty Recruitment, Diversity, and Inclusion, effective January 1, 2019. SAC meeting to feature presentation on Business 40 closure

A timely update on the Business 40 closure will be presented Nov. 13 at a meeting of the Staff Advisory Council (SAC). The meeting will feature a presentation on the closure and commuting options by Pat Ivey with the N.C. Department of Transportation.  Business 40 along downtown Winston-Salem is expected to close Nov. 17 for a major improvement project.


Proposals funded: Berry, Hepler, Bonin, Brubaker

Congratulations to Michael Berry, professor of health and exercise science, whose proposal entitled “Balancing operative and rehabilitation needs in critically ill burn patients who require multiple planned surgical interventions” has been funded by the United States Department of Defense (DOD) and by (subaward/subcontract from) the University of Kentucky Research Foundation.
