Wake Forest University has appointed Dedee DeLongpré Johnston as vice president for human resources and sustainability, effective October 1. In this role, she will lead the University’s talent functions, including recruitment, campus engagement, compensation and benefits, professional development, HR operations and HR information systems. DeLongpré Johnston will continue to lead the Office of Sustainability as vice president and chief sustainability officer. She has served as interim chief human resources officer since April 2020.

“Representation Matters: Art, Space and Racial Restitution,” a webinar co-sponsored by Hanes Gallery, Wake Forest University’s Slavery, Race and Memory Project and Wake the Arts, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 30 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The panel will be moderated by humanities professor Corey D. B. Walker and feature conversations around the works.

Tests of Wake Forest emergency alert systems will be conducted Oct. 6 and 7. System tests will occur on both days between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. The tests are being conducted to ensure that the University’s emergency notification systems are operating properly.If an actual emergency were to occur on the testing dates, the University would use numerous alert methods to inform the campus.
