We are saddened to share that Bernard Lee “Bern” Beatty, retired associate professor of management in the business school, passed away on August 4. He was 92 years old. Beatty taught accounting, management and case writing for 42 years, from 1974 to 2016.

In March of 2020, Wake Forest University launched a signature speaker series called the Face to Face Speaker Forum. The community-facing series brings world-renowned, influential voices to Winston-Salem to discuss topics in a variety of areas including politics, arts and culture, business and social justice. Due to the pandemic, 2020-2021 Face to Face in-person events were postponed. The rescheduled event dates have been announced, along with a series addition schedule for April 2022.

Wake Forest has approved a new Building Access Policy that includes the addition of Deacon OneCard and badge access readers at the entrances of a number of University buildings that formerly did not require keycard access. The new policy supports the safety and security of our campus community and also facilitates consistent and quick responses in the event of an emergency.
