The Office of Sustainability invites you to donate seeds to the new campus seed library! If you have extra seeds from this summer, seeds from last year, or saved seeds, stick a label on them with the species and bring them to the Office of Sustainability. Seeds can be delivered to the Campus Garden at 1141 Polo Road (drop them in the mailbox on the house) or to Building 29 (can be sent via inter-office mail)!

A seed library is a community resource designed to create more opportunities for amateur and experienced gardeners to plant new species, in addition to promoting biodiversity and garden health. With our campus seed library, the Office of Sustainability hopes to promote resilient and diversified gardens and encourage new gardeners to try their hand at growing their own seeds.

“Saving seeds and sharing them with your community is an act of resiliency for ourselves and the natural world around us,” says Sarah Rodgers, outdoor learning spaces coordinator. “A seed library is such a lovely idea because it allows people to develop a new hobby, feed themselves and their families, and connect them to the people and place around them. “

You don’t need acres of land to start your garden. Whether you have a small plot in your backyard, a balcony planter, or join a community garden to gain access to more space, you can be a gardener! All you need is dirt, seeds, and the willingness to start.
