Wake Forest’s Healthy Exercise and Lifestyle ProgramS (HELPS) is now accepting applications for the Fall 2026 Heart Health Program (HHP).

This free, 12-week program is designed for full-time, permanent Wake Forest University employees who want to adopt a heart-healthy lifestyle but aren’t sure where to start. Medically directed and professionally supervised, the HHP combines exercise, education, and lifestyle guidance.

Eligibility

  • Able to commit to personal dietary and exercise changes
  • Able to attend weekly in-person group sessions
  • Employed at Wake Forest University (full-time, permanent status)

What’s included

  • Three months of weekly group sessions focused on heart health
    One-on-one consultations with the program dietitian and exercise physiologists
  • Physical activity tracking and exercise guidance
  • Specific quality nutrient guidance
  • Behavior modification and mindfulness education
  • Initial and end-of-program health screenings:
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Cholesterol checks
  • Physical function assessments
  • DXA total body composition scans
