University Stories
University Stories are a cornerstone of the Inside WFU site and offer the widest breadth and depth for sharing timely updates, achievements, and meaningful stories related to University faculty and staff. These stories go beyond traditional news to highlight the people, work, and impact shaping Wake Forest University.
University Stories may include:
- University announcements
- Awards and recognitions
- Publications and research
- New hires and promotions

- Department or unit, role, and relevant background (e.g., tenure at the University)
Why it matters

- Why this is important to the Wake Forest community at this time
Supporting elements
- A quote from a member of the University community
- One or more hyperlinks to learn more or get involved
- Photo images, if available
Length and Submission Details
- Draft submissions should be approximately 100–350 words in length.
- Submit drafts at least one week before the requested publication date.
- Submissions should be fully written and complete; brief outlines or rough ideas may not be considered.
- All submissions are edited for clarity, accuracy, and style.
Before drafting
To ensure alignment and avoid unnecessary work, contributors are encouraged to share a brief story summary or idea with the Inside WFU team in advance. This helps confirm fit, timing, and the most appropriate format.
Content placement
Some stories may be better suited for unit or departmental websites rather than Inside WFU. The Inside WFU team is happy to help determine the best placement and, when appropriate, may recommend alternative ways to share the content.
Editorial review
Submission does not guarantee publication. The Inside WFU team retains editorial discretion to publish, defer, adapt, or decline submissions based on relevance, timing, and overall content balance.
