Latest update on Hurricane Irma

This announcement was emailed to students, faculty and staff on Sept. 8 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

Wake Forest is continuing preparations for potential effects from Hurricane Irma. At this time, officials are cautiously optimistic about a relatively low impact to the Winston-Salem area.


University Counseling Center expands support for students

This is a guest post from the University Counseling Center:

On August 14, 2017 the University Counseling Center unveiled its expanded crisis support services available to the Wake Forest community. In order to provide greater access for students who are experiencing an emotional crisis, immediate support is available by calling the UCC (336.758.5273) 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Enrolled students who are studying abroad, or are away from campus during the year can also receive this crisis support. Previously the UCC offered after-hours and weekend crisis support during the fall and spring semesters when residence halls were open.


Suicide prevention training blitz begins April 11

From April 11 to April 15, the Wake Forest University Counseling Center will be conducting a Suicide Prevention Training each day in hopes of training over 250 people during the week. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to come learn how to identify and help members of our community who are most in need of mental health services.


Week of Sleep workshops begin Feb. 8

In collaboration with various offices and student groups, the Office of Wellbeing would like to present the Week of Sleep, a series of daily workshops Feb. 8-12 at 4 p.m. in Benson University Center to raise awareness of the importance of sleep related to our physical and emotional wellbeing leading up to the Sleep Challenge! Faculty, staff, and students who come get a free sleep gear prize (while supplies last, first come first serve).


Update regarding Wake Forest students in France

This message was e-mailed today to students, faculty and staff by Communications and External Relations:

Wake Forest officials continue monitoring the situation in Paris this weekend following terrorist attacks Friday, but at this point officials have not heard of any student who has been harmed or is in danger.
