Mark B. Scholl receives 2021 Fellows Award from the American Counseling Association

Mark B. Scholl, associate professor in the Department of Counseling, received the 2021 American Counseling Association (ACA) Fellows Award during this year’s ACA Virtual Conference. The ACA Fellows Award is the highest honor presented by the association for significant and unique contributions to the counseling profession. Headshot of Mark B. Scholl, associate professor in the WFU Department of Counseling

Scholl’s research interests include culturally responsive counseling, constructivist approaches to career counseling and career counseling approaches for community ex-offenders. As a member of the ACA Governing Council, he represents the Association for Humanistic Counseling and has been an ACA member for 27 years. Since the fall of 2012, Scholl has provided career support services to members of the ex-offender population in North Carolina and currently serves on the Forsyth County Reentry Council.

“I feel honored to be named an American Counseling Association Fellow. I find the recognition to be motivating as it represents a call for continuing to serve the profession as a counselor, scholar, educator and leader,” Scholl said.

This year, eight counselors were granted ACA Fellow status. All honorees are active members of the association and represent a diverse community of leaders that create and expand knowledge and insight into the counseling profession.
