Dear Wake Forest community,

Welcome to 2019! I hope your time away from Wake Forest was refreshing and you return with a deep anticipation of what this year holds. As we start a new semester, I want to offer you a reflection and some encouragement.


Proposals funded: Williams, Fernandez, Jayawickreme

Congratulations to Richard Williams, professor emeritus of physics, whose proposal entitled “Improvements of Scintillators mainly Experimental WFU subcontract from Lawrence Berkeley National Lab” has been funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and by (subaward/subcontract from) the University of California.


Proposals funded: Rejeski, Iltis, Harris-Perry, Messier

Congratulations to Jack Rejeski, professor of health and exercise science, whose proposal entitled “Mobile Intervention to reduce pain and improve health (MORPH) in obese older adults” has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and by (subaward/subcontract from) Wake Forest University Health Sciences.


Temperature in campus buildings to be lowered to save energy during winter break

In an effort to conserve energy over the winter holiday period, the Facilities & Campus Services Department will be implementing the annual temperature setback program for our academic and administrative buildings starting the night of Friday, December 21, and ending the morning of Tuesday, January 2.
