Professor and filmmaker Joel Tauber’s documentary to premier Oct. 17 and 18

It’s been nearly one year since filmmaker and Wake Forest associate professor Joel Tauber undertook “Border-Ball,” a 40-day pilgrimage along the U.S.-Mexico border to build community through baseball. A virtual exhibition on Tauber’s pilgrimage exploring immigration, compassion and hope will open on Oct. 17 with ArtCenter DTLA in Los Angeles, California, launching the online premiere of the “Border-Ball” documentary.

Two faculty receive prestigious Engineering Unleashed Fellowships

Wake Forest University assistant professors of engineering Erin Henslee and Lauren Lowman have received national acclaim for their work, which advances the program’s mission to instill in students an entrepreneurial mindset and commitment to virtue. The Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN) has named Henslee and Lowman as 2020 Engineering Unleashed Fellows for their contributions to engineering pedagogy and entrepreneurship.

Admissions updates for the campus community

The following is a guest post from Eric Maguire, vice president for enrollment: While working remotely, the Undergraduate Admissions staff joined in solidarity with our colleagues throughout campus to sustain a strong and vibrant Wake Forest community. Our staff quickly pivoted from our signature face-to-face work to creative virtual efforts. For over six months, our work has included yielding our first-year class, conducting webcam interviews, hosting live virtual sessions, planning fall virtual visits and college fairs, and evaluating Early Decision applications.
