International Education Week (IEW) began today and runs through Friday, Nov. 20. The Center for Global Programs and Studies and co-sponsors invite the Wake Forest community to participate in a wide variety of events this week to celebrate. Today, Wake Forest University was recognized by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and Diversity Abroad for increasing access to global experiences for all students. Faculty and staff have advanced initiatives that strengthen global mindsets and keep students engaged globally, even amid the pandemic.

In the Spring of 2020, the Wake Forest University Slavery, Race and Memory Project (SRMP) published a collection of essays, titled “To Stand With And For Humanity.” The SRMP will host a virtual, public conversation about the publication on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

The Winston-Salem Symphony will perform Dan Locklair’s “In Memory – H.H.L.” for string orchestra on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. as part of “American Landscapes.” The virtual concert will be streamed live from the Stephens Center. Locklair is professor of music and composer-in-residence at Wake Forest University.
