A two-day workshop/conference to focus on the issue of Muslim identity in South Asia will be held Sept. 15-16 at Reynolda House Museum of American Art. The workshop is entitled “Locality, Genre, and Muslim Belonging in South Asia. ” It is organized by M. Raisur Rahman, associate professor of history at Wake Forest, and Razak Khan, research fellow at the Centre for Modern Indian Studies in Gottingen, Germany.

Manhattan Transfer meets Monty Python…Robin Williams meets Bobby McFerrin…that’s The Bobs. This original “band without instruments” has been skewering the classics and breaking all the rules in the world of vocal music for over 30 years, playing everywhere from Lincoln Center to Berlin’s Passionkirche. This is your last chance to hear these remarkable – and remarkably funny – experts of a cappella music, as they perform for the Secrest Artists Series on their farewell tour. The concert will be presented Sept. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Brendle Recital Hall, Scales Fine Arts Center.
