Simon receives award from American Sociological Association
An article written by Professor of Sociology Robin Simon and two other researchers has been selected for the 2017 Award for Best Article, Family Section of the American Sociological Association. The award will be presented to them in August at the 2017 annual meetings of the American Sociological Association in Montreal.

SAC survey asks about staff experience at annual picnic
The Staff Advisory Council is encouraging staff to take a survey that provides an opportunity to comment on the Staff Appreciation Picnic held June 6.

Gladding named president of marriage/family counselors group
Professor of Counseling Sam Gladding has been elected president of the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors (IAMFC). The presidency is a two-year term beginning July 1, 2018. Gladding becomes president elect July 1, 2017.
