Mary M. Dalton, professor of communication, has been elected to the Advisory Council of the University Film and Video Foundation (UFVF). The foundation engages in and promotes worldwide education, research, innovation and charitable activities in the arts and sciences of moving images and other media.

Wake Forest will welcome a new first-year class on Wednesday, Aug. 18, and Thursday, Aug. 19, when new student move-in begins at 9 a.m. For faculty and staff scheduled to be on campus, the University has recommendations for where to enter campus and park.

Bern Beatty, retired professor of business, passes away
We are saddened to share that Bernard Lee “Bern” Beatty, retired associate professor of management in the business school, passed away on August 4. He was 92 years old. Beatty taught accounting, management and case writing for 42 years, from 1974 to 2016.
