The first Wake Up to Poetry celebration will be Saturday, April 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the Community Arts Cafe. Just in time for National Poetry Month, four student-poets will read their prize-winning poems. Their work was selected from nearly 30 students’ work by three award-winning poet-judges from outside the university. The judges will each read one of their own poems, as well.

An open music session, led by the internationally known duo, The Belfast Boys, will follow the poetry reading and awards. Musicians of all levels are encouraged to come and bring their instruments.

The event is free and open to the public. The Community Arts Cafe is located at 411 W. Fourth Street in Winston-Salem. For information, call 758-5448, Monday – Friday.
