Retired staff member Werner Kist has passed away

The University recently learned that Werner Kist passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026. Werner served the University for 14 years, retiring in 2020 as a tutor in Athletics. 

The Wake Forest community extends its condolences to Elen’s family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, Sept 5th at Salem Funeral Home in Winston-Salem, NC. An obituary can be found here.
