McPherson Road and several nearby parking and pedestrian areas will undergo temporary closures this summer as part of a hardscape improvement project led by Facilities, Real Estate and Planning.

Beginning Tuesday, May 19, McPherson Road will be closed from Wake Forest Road to Gulley Drive. The project is expected to be completed by Friday, Aug. 14. Significant fencing will be installed at both ends of the road and in portions of nearby sidewalk areas to support construction and maintain safety.

The project will also require the temporary closure of Lot M, the Kirby/Calloway Bridge, and the Reynolda Hall loading dock, including the connected parking lot and traffic circle.

Work includes repaving roads and parking areas, waterproofing the bridge and redesigning the Reynolda Hall loading dock to improve capacity, functionality and traffic flow for deliveries and campus vehicles.

A pedestrian pathway will remain available in front of the Wellbeing Center with access to the center and Deacon Health. Access to The Pit, Kirby/Manchester, Greene and Carswell remains available through alternative entryways. See the map below for pedestrian pathways.
