Students, faculty and staff at Wake Forest will be informed of any weather-related campus closings and delays this winter by numerous means:

A text message and email will be sent to all students, faculty and staff registered to receive Wake Alert emergency messages. To register your cell phone, visit Wake Alert. Ensure notifications are enabled by following the instructions provided here.

  1. A notification will be posted on the Wake Safe app, the University’s free safety app. Learn how to turn on notifications here. The app is accessible to users outside the Wake Forest system, allowing family members to also download the app and receive alerts.
  2. An announcement will be posted on the Wake Alert website.
  3. A banner will be displayed at the top of the University’s home page and other University web pages, providing details and a link to the Wake Alert site.
  4. Posts will be made to the Inside WFU website and to @WakeAlert X and Facebook (Wake Alert).
  5. Four area television stations – WXIIWGHPWFMY and Spectrum News 14 – will be notified.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact alert@wfu.edu.

An Inclement Weather and Other Unusual Conditions policy is posted to the University Policy Library. The updates provide clarity on essential personnel designations, performance expectations and non-exempt employee pay during adverse weather conditions and emergency events.
