Betina Cutaia Wilkinson, associate professor of politics and international affairs at Wake Forest University, has been elected to the American Political Science Association (APSA) Council for the 2025–2028 term.

The APSA Council is the association’s governing body. The council is responsible for setting the organization’s strategic direction and vision, monitoring operations, making policy and budgetary decisions, and providing guidance on key initiatives. Serving on the Council is a prestigious honor that reflects peer recognition across the discipline.

Wilkinson’s areas of expertise include race and ethnic politics, public opinion, public policy, and political behavior. Her book project Partners or Rivals? Power and Latino, Black and White Relations in the 21st Century won the American Political Science Association REP Section’s Best Book Award on Inter-Race Relations in the United States.

She currently serves as co-editor of PS: Political Science & Politics, and her research—published in leading journals and highlighted by national media—has gained broad recognition in the field.
