Wake Forest’s Emergency Alert Systems will be tested on Monday, July 7. Testing will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The tests are being conducted to ensure that the University’s indoor emergency notification systems are operating properly.

During the testing, the emergency alarm system will test alerts for: Testing Alert Message Shelter in Place, Tornado Alert, General Weather Alert, Evacuate Building, Active Shooter, Armed Intruder and All Clear

Facilities and Campus Services will carry out testing. During these tests, no action is required in response to alert messages.

Scheduled testing will occur for the following buildings and locations on and off the Reynolda Campus:

  • Angelou
  • Dogwood
  • North Campus Apts 1 – 10
  • Polo
  • Student Apts A&B
  • Sutton Performance Center
  • Taylor

Scheduled testing of the outdoor emergency system will also occur and utilize the outdoor PA system on the Reynolda Campus.

If an actual emergency were to occur on the testing dates, the University would inform the campus through numerous alert methods.

In addition to the testing procedures outlined above, emergency preparedness for members of the Wake Forest community requires each of us to review the University’s Emergency response, evacuation procedures and notification of immediate threat as posted on Inside WFU.

Please review Wake Alert FAQs to review how Wake Forest will communicate in an emergency.
