Wake Forest University Theatre will kick off the spring semester with Sarah Ruhl’s “Dead Man’s Cell Phone.” The play, directed by professor of acting Brook Davis, opens at the Ring Theatre on Feb.7.

When the play premiered in 2007, it questioned human connections and disconnections and how lives have changed with cell phones everywhere, all the time. In 2025, the examination is even more profound.

After Jean answers and keeps answering a dead man’s cell phone, she stumbles into a complicated world of grand discoveries and adventure. The play is a whimsical look at humanity, technology and the life-altering importance of a good bowl of lobster bisque.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, and $10 for students. Purchases can be made online at theatre.wfu.edu or by calling the Theatre & Dance Box Office at 336-758-5295.
