Phishing attacks are getting sharper every year, sneaking past even the most careful inboxes. Here’s what you need to know, and what to do if one gets you.

Got Phished? Here’s What To Do:

Remember when the scariest thing in your inbox was a chain email promising bad luck if you didn’t forward it to 10 friends? These days it’s a lot sneakier, and a lot more convincing.

Be a digital detective.

Before you click anything, double-check the sender’s email address, and watch out for messages that create a sense of panic or urgency; that’s usually a sign something’s off.

If you’re not sure, don’t guess.

Forward it to and let the pros take a look.

Already clicked something sketchy?

Same deal: report it to right away. Reporting is one of the easiest ways to protect yourself and the rest of the Wake Forest community.

Level up your defenses.

Passkeys are one of the strongest tools we’ve got against phishing. They add a crucial layer of protection to your logins and can’t be guessed, stolen, or phished the way passwords can. Add one as a 2-step verification method, then swing by The Bridge to grab your Resist the Phish sticker.
