A guest post from the WFU Face to Face Speaker Forum

Yo-Yo Ma, Grammy award-winning cellist, cultural ambassador and U.N. Messenger of Peace will join the upcoming Face to Face Speaker Forum for an evening of conversation on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

The Face to Face Speaker Forum is excited to offer faculty and staff a 20% discount off single tickets. Please use the offer code F2F20 to receive your discount when purchasing tickets online. This exclusive offer is for you and your immediate family members. (ie., partner/spouse and children).

During the event, Yo-Yo Ma will share his personal stories and vision for a better tomorrow along with musical interludes. The evening will be moderated by PBS NewsHour’s Jeffrey Brown.  Students from the Wake Forest String Quartet will perform before the start of the program.

In addition to his work as a performing artist, Yo-Yo Ma partners with communities and institutions from Chicago to Guangzhou to develop programs that champion culture’s power to transform lives and forge a more connected world. He is the first artist ever appointed to the World Economic Forum’s board of trustees, and a member of the board of Nia Tero, the US-based nonprofit working in solidarity with Indigenous peoples and movements worldwide.
