Wake Forest University faculty members Dale Martin and Ralph Tower were each selected for a chaired professorship honoring Wayne Calloway, the late PepsiCo executive and namesake of the university’s Wayne Calloway School of Business and Accountancy.

Martin, who joined Wake Forest’s faculty in 1982, was named the Wayne Calloway Professor of Financial Accounting. Martin coordinates the accounting program for the Calloway school.

Tower was named the Wayne Calloway Professor of Taxation. Tower joined the Calloway school in 1980 and was instrumental in developing its accounting curriculum.

Calloway, who died in 1998, was the former chairman and chief executive officer of PepsiCo. He was a Wake Forest alumnus and chairman of the university’s board of trustees.

Recipients of the professorship are accounting faculty members who exemplify Wayne Calloway’s belief in integrity and results. This belief is shown through the recipients’ scholarly endeavors, including their teaching, research and service. Recipients also demonstrate a commitment to instruction and curriculum development, as well as research and publication in the accounting field.
