Tests of indoor Emergency Alert Systems to be held June 9-11
Wake Forest’s Indoor Emergency Alert Systems will be tested from Monday, June 9, through Wednesday, June 11. Testing will occur between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. The tests are being conducted to ensure that the University’s indoor emergency notification systems are operating properly. Please note these testing dates on your calendar as a reminder.
During the testing, the indoor emergency alarm system will test alerts for: Shelter in Place, Tornado Alert, General Weather Alert, Evacuate Building, Active Shooter, Armed Intruder and All Clear. A “Testing Alert” message will be shared before testing messages begin.
Facilities and Campus Services will carry out testing. During these tests, no action is required in response to alert messages.
Scheduled testing days for each building:
June 9: Angelou, Alumni Hall, Babcock, Bostwick, Davis, Dogwood, Efird, Farrell Hall, HES, Huffman, Johnson, Kitchin, Luter, Magnolia, NC Apts # 1-5, NC Apts # 6-10, Poteat, Polo, ROTC, South and Student Apts A&B, Taylor and Worrell
June 10: Benson, Carswell, Greene Hall, EH&S Building, Facilities Management, McCreary Field House (includes SHAH, SPC, Miller Center & McCreary Football Complex), North and South Chiller, North Dining Hall, Olin, Palmer, Piccolo, Porter B. Byrum, Reynolda Hall, Reynolds Gym/Sutton Center, Salem Hall, Scales Art/Scales Music, Starling Hall, Tribble, Wait/Wingate, Winston Hall and WFDD Radio
June 11: Bridger Field House, Haddock House, Dailey Golf Learning Center, the Baseball Clubhouse, the ACC Control Room, Harold Pollard Tennis Clubhouse and the off-site storage warehouse
If an actual emergency were to occur on the testing dates, the University would inform the campus through numerous alert methods.
In addition to the testing procedures outlined above, emergency preparedness for members of the Wake Forest community requires each of us to review the University’s Emergency response, evacuation procedures and notification of immediate threat as posted on Inside WFU.
