Steam system outage planned for May 19 – May 23

The University’s Central Heating Plant will undergo its annual shutdown for maintenance and inspections beginning Monday, May 19, 2025, at 3 p.m. The steam outage will disable building heating and domestic hot water systems campus-wide. The boilers are scheduled to be restarted on Friday, May 23, 2025, and steam pressure should return to normal by 6 p.m., barring any delays.

Customer Service Notice to Campus:
During the shutdown, telephone calls to extension 4255 and online work order requests will not be answered after 4:30 p.m. If you need immediate assistance after 4:30 p.m. and before 8:00 a.m., please contact University Police Dispatch at 336.758.5591.

In emergencies, the University Police can be reached by dialing 911 from a campus extension or 336-758-5911 from any phone.
