All faculty, staff, and students are invited to be a part of the university’s annual Tree Campus Higher Education certification process by participating in Wake Forest’s 2025 Arbor Day Celebration. Join the festivities this Friday, April 25 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. between Babcock and Johnson Residence Halls for a ceremonial tree planting, service-learning event, and cookout.

This annual event is coordinated in partnership by the Office of Sustainability, Residence Life & Housing, and the Facilities Landscaping Services team to honor National Arbor Day and the thoughtful stewardship of our campus trees.

Now in our 14th year as a recognized Tree Campus Higher Education (formerly Tree Campus USA), Wake Forest maintains a robust campus tree care plan with policies, practices, and guidelines for the care and maintenance of the thousands of trees located on our over 300-acre Reynolda campus.

Our campus trees provide valuable ecosystem services like stormwater filtration through their roots, shade that helps with building energy management, and oxygen production in addition to beautiful canopy coverage.

Be a friend to the trees and join the 2025 Arbor Day Celebration on April 25.
