A message from WFU’s Center for Immigration Services and Support

On Thursday, Nov. 2 from 2 to 4 p.m., the University’s Center for Immigration Services and Support (ISS) will host a research symposium to highlight the work of the University’s J-1 exchange visitors.

An international faculty and staff reception to highlight Wake Forest’s international employees will follow the symposium from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Both events will be held on the 3rd floor of Benson in the rotunda and are stop-by events.

The J-1 program is managed by the U.S. Department of State to facilitate the exchange of culture and ideas. Persons holding the J-1 visa status are graduate students, professors, researchers and professionals in their home countries who come to the U.S. to fulfill specific research goals and objectives.

Wake Forest University and the Wakehealth campus host more than 100 J-1 exchange visitors throughout the year. J-1 visa holders enhance the University’s mission of global excellence.

Please note: The last information session for faculty and staff, “Hiring International Faculty & Staff” is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 3. This session provides an overview of the procedures required for visa sponsorship for current and new international employees. Registration is available in Workday Learning.
