WFU sealA message from Executive Vice President Hof Milam and Vice President, Human Resources & Sustainability Dedee DeLongpré Johnston:

Dear Colleagues,

We are writing today to announce that, following a full evaluation of our options, Carolina Behavioral Health Alliance (CBHA)* will continue to serve as the University’s behavioral health administrator for the 2023 calendar year. Throughout the evaluation process, minimizing member disruption remained a top priority. The decision to continue our relationship with CBHA will help ensure participants will have uninterrupted provider access.

As a reminder, BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina chose to discontinue the Blue Value Network, prompting an evaluation of third-party administrators for the University’s medical, prescription, and behavioral health plans for the 2023 plan year. On June 15, we announced that Aetna was selected to administer the medical and prescription plans.

We look forward to sharing final benefits plans, member costs, and additional resources prior to open enrollment, which is scheduled for October 3-21.

* On July 1, faculty and staff were made aware of a CBHA data security incident. The University has remained in close communication with CBHA, who has provided information regarding changes in their security practices to assure us that data security protocols are in place to help minimize the risk of an additional incident.
