Wake Forest remembers connections to former First Lady Barbara Bush

Wake Forest University has several connections to former First Lady Barbara Bush, who died April 17 at the age of 92.

This week, those connections are recounted in a news release distributed by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations.  As many on campus may recall, Bush delivered Wake Forest’s Commencement address in 2001.  The previous year, her son George W. Bush had debated Al Gore in Wait Chapel during the presidential campaign.  And, many other connections exist, including the time her husband, George H.W. Bush, debated Michael Dukakis in Wait Chapel during the 1988 presidential campaign.

The story of those connections is found here.
