Clery Act training to be presented in January

The University will present Clery Act compliance training on Jan. 11 at Z. Smith Reynolds Library’s auditorium.

The basic class will be held from 9—11 a.m.  An advanced class will be held from 1:15-4 p.m.

Training will be provided by D. Stafford and Associates for individuals designated by federal law (Clery Act) as Campus Security Authorities (CSA).

Registration for the training is being held through the Professional Development Center (PDC).  The sessions are entitled Basic Campus Security Authority Course and Advanced Clery Act Training. Details about the training is included at the PDC web site.

The training covers the requirements of the federal law regarding Campus Security Authorities and the Violence Against Women Act.

CSAs include a wide variety of employees at the University, including advisors to registered student organizations.  Former advisors are encouraged to contact the Office of the Dean of Students if they have not, already, informed the office they have ceased their advising responsibilities. The University is encouraging both new and experienced Campus Security Authorities to enroll this month for January’s training sessions.
