The Demon Deacon holds a sign that says Pro HumanitateIn the spirit of Pro Humanitate, Wake Forest not only provides for its students, faculty and staff, but also the community beyond the gates. That is why the University continues to partner with the local United Way.

Wake Forest was recognized earlier this year for the 2012 United Way campaign. Now it is time to kick off the 2013 campaign, which runs Oct. 1-31, with an event on Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 4 p.m. in the Reynolda Hall Green Room. The Campaign Kick-off will feature music from Unbroken Circle, snacks, and you’ll get to see a new side of President Nathan Hatch!

“We trust you will seriously consider supporting United Way. ‘Wake United’ — that is a partnership that fits perfectly with our motto, Pro Humanitate,” Hatch said in his video on the United Way website, unitedway.wfu.edu.  The website includes information about upcoming events and video messages from Hatch and four other WFU employees, as well as a link to a photo gallery of WFU employees saying why they give.

Employees soon will receive an email with a personalized link to an online pledge process.
