Thursday, June 14, will be a big day for your campus public radio station, 88.5 WFDD. Each year, the station holds an end-of-fiscal-year fundraiser. This year, WFDD is keeping the June pledge drive to just one day — and if history is any indicator, it will be fun-filled, busy day at “the little yellow farm house.”

If you want to join in the fun and get a behind-the-scenes look at a public radio pledge drive, drop by the WFDD studios, located next to Kentner Stadium, anytime from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 14. If you’d like to volunteer to answer some phones or stuff some receipts in envelopes, get in touch with WFDD’s volunteer coordinator, ShaDonna Crosby, at crosbys@wfu.edu. Oh, and we hear they always have a good supply of chocolate on hand, in case you need a mid-day or afternoon pick-me-up!

If you can’t drop by, make sure to tune in to WFDD to track their progress, or check for updates on the WFDD website, wfdd.org, or their Facebook page. They’ll also give away three Apple iPads — at 10 a.m., 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.  You can learn more about the one-day pledge drive and the giveaways here:  http://wfdd.org/mship/2012june.php.

If you count on WFDD for Morning Edition each day on your drive to work, Triad Arts Up Close for coverage of local music, theater, art and film, or tune in each Saturday for a laugh on Wait, Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me!, you can make a pledge of support to help cover the costs of running the station.
