Mary E. Pugel

Mary E. Pugel, Donna K. Gung and Nancy S. Moore have joined the staff of Wake Forest University’s new president, Nathan O. Hatch. Hatch assumed the presidency July 1, after serving as provost at the University of Notre Dame.

Pugel serves as senior executive assistant to the president. She joined Wake Forest’s staff July 1. Since 1997, Pugel had been executive assistant to Hatch while he served as Notre Dame’s provost. Previously, Pugel had been a senior consultant with Catholic School Management Inc. She also held development, communications and public relations positions with not-for-profit educational, social service and religious organizations in Seattle and Los Angeles.

Donna K. Gung

Gung is executive assistant to the university’s president. She joined the staff of Wake Forest’s legal department in 1995 as an administrative assistant to J. Reid Morgan, who is now vice president and general counsel at Wake Forest, as well as secretary to the board of trustees. Previously, she was employed at POPI Services and Wake Forest School of Medicine.

Moore is executive assistant to Pugel. She joined Wake Forest’s staff in 1976, initially as a secretary in the School of Law. From 1984 to 2002, Moore was the assistant to Vice President and Counsel Leon Corbett, who retired from that role in 2002. Most recently, she

Nancy S. Moore

has held a number of university positions, including as an assistant to the university’s presidential search committee and its subsequent presidential transition committee. She also served until recently as assistant secretary to the university’s board of trustees.
