Crime Alert: WSPD investigating peeping incident off campus

This crime alert was emailed to students, faculty and staff on Jan. 25 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:

The Winston-Salem Police Department is investigating an off-campus peeping incident that occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 24 around 7:15 p.m. A female Wake Forest student saw an unidentified man looking into her bathroom window, holding a mobile device and apparently recording images of her.

The incident occurred at a house on Wake Place Court, which is across University Parkway near Long Road.

The student immediately notified the Winston-Salem Police Department, which promptly began an investigation.

Authorities ask that anyone with information contact the Winston-Salem Police Department at 336.773.7700 or CrimeStoppers at 336.727.2800. In an emergency off campus, call 911.

Police patrols of the area will be increased.

WSPD update on investigation into campus shooting

This is an announcement from the Winston-Salem Police Department on the afternoon of Saturday, Jan. 20:

The investigation into the murder of Najee Ali Baker has remained active and ongoing by detectives with the Winston-Salem Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division. Authorities continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses as part of that investigation.

At this time, authorities are not releasing any additional details regarding this active investigation. Subsequent media updates will be published by investigators with the Winston-Salem Police Department as information becomes available.
