Wake Forest delivers hurricane relief supplies to eastern NC
On Oct. 17, Wake Forest’s Office of Alumni Engagement delivered disaster relief items to a Red Cross shelter in Tarboro for distribution to North Carolinians still suffering from the devastation of Hurricane Matthew.

Congratulations to Abdessadek Lachgar, professor of chemistry, whose proposal entitled “Empowering Pakistani Women through Scientific Research, Technology Development, and Entrepreneurship: Waste-to-Energy Technology Development” has been funded by the USAID and by [subaward/subcontract from] National Academy of Sciences (WFU funding agency).

Crime alert update: third incident of student struck by men
This is an update to a crime alert distributed by email to students, faculty and staff early today, Oct. 15, regarding two students being punched in the head or face by unidentified men in separate incidents near the Polo Road entrance to campus.

This message was emailed to students, faculty and staff on Oct. 15 by Communications and External Relations:
Two male students, in separate incidents, reported early Saturday morning (Oct. 15) being punched in the face or head by unidentified men near the Polo Road entrance to campus.

Staff recognized for milestones, Employees of the Year announced
Members of the campus community honored service milestones of more than 250 Wake Forest staff members who were celebrating approximately 2,800 combined years of service. These individuals were recognized at the 16th annual Staff Rewards & Recognition on Tuesday, October 11 at Bridger Field House. Later in the day, a campus-wide reception was open to all faculty and staff in the Green Room of Reynolda Hall.

Free flu shots being offered now to faculty, staff, retirees
Wake Forest is sponsoring free flu shots for faculty, staff and retirees much of October. Registration through the Professional Development Center (PDC) is encouraged.
