A Message from President Hatch

President Nathan Hatch emailed this announcement to faculty and staff on April 10:Dear Wake Forest faculty and staff,Moments ago, Wake Forest Baptist Health announced preliminary plans to align efforts with Atrium Health, forming an academic health system that will care for the health and well-being of people throughout the region, as well as contribute ground-breaking research and innovation to the world. Included in the announcement are plans to build on the excellence of Wake Forest School of Medicine and develop a second state-of-the-art campus in Charlotte. Today’s announcement begins a period of exclusive negotiations with Atrium Health, with the goal of finalizing an agreement later this year.


Unstable weather predicted for Winston-Salem area April 8; severe weather possible

This announcement was emailed to students, faculty and staff on April 8 by Wake Forest Communications and External Relations:Students, faculty and staff are encouraged today, April 8, to stay informed on weather conditions.  Unstable weather is forecast for the Winston-Salem area.  Thunderstorms are possible today.  Some storms could be severe, according to weather forecasts.

Allison McWilliams: Seek out feedback

Allison McWilliams is assistant vice president, mentoring and alumni personal & career development. She writes occasional articles for Inside WFU. This is her fourth for the spring semester.  In each, she shares observations and suggestions with faculty and staff from her professional experiences with students.


Proposals funded: Brown, Dagenbach, Rejeski

Congratulations to Hana Brown, associate professor of sociology, whose proposal entitled “Enforcement or Embrace: The Determinants of State-Level Immigration Policies in New Immigrant Destinations,” has been funded by the National Science Foundation and by (subaward/subcontract from) the University of Illinois.
