Dear Wake Forest colleagues,

Today, we begin a national search for the next dean of the Wake Forest University School of Business.

The School of Business plays a vital role in our University’s overall mission and distinct identity. Beyond its exceptional academic programs, professional development, and industry partnerships, the Business School must prepare its graduates to be thoughtful, humanity-centered leaders in a global market. To this end, we must identify a leader who aligns with the culture of Wake Forest, values our liberal arts core and commitment to educating the whole person, and actively champions Pro Humanitate. Crucially, the next dean must be committed to the Business School’s mission to develop analytical, ethical business leaders defined by integrity, character, and principled decision-making.

I am grateful to Interim Dean Montague and the school’s leadership team for their leadership and stewardship of the School during this academic year as we navigate the search.

As with the provost search, I will chair the search committee. These two roles will shape the university for years to come, and it is important that I am closely engaged in both. Russell Reynolds Associates will serve as our search partner. You can find the full committee and more about the search on the search website.

Over the coming weeks, Russell Reynolds will meet with faculty, staff, students, and school leaders to inform the position specification. An anonymous community survey will follow in mid-November, with responses going directly to Russell Reynolds. You can share your thoughts at any time through the feedback form on the search website.

I want to thank you in advance for the input you will provide into this important search for Wake Forest, and for sharing this exceptional leadership opportunity with colleagues and peers.

Best,

Peter
