Introducing the President’s Awards for Excellence

Dear Colleagues,

Since joining the Wake Forest community, I have witnessed firsthand the dedication, creativity, and care that our faculty and staff bring to their work every day. Across every school, department, and division, it is your passion that truly brings the spirit of Pro Humanitate to life.

Much of this vital work happens quietly, without fanfare but with great impact. Today, I am pleased to announce the establishment of the President’s Awards for Excellence. This new institutional recognition program was created to celebrate the remarkable contributions, leadership, and daily efforts of our colleagues.

Developed in partnership with the Office of the President, the Staff Advisory Council, the Faculty Senate, and Human Resources, these annual honors will recognize both individuals and teams across four distinct categories:

• The President’s Award for Excellence in Leadership and Mentorship
• The President’s Award for Excellence in Collaboration and Teamwork
• The President’s Award for Excellence in Innovation and Impact
• The President’s Award for Excellence in Workplace Recognition

Whether by empowering others, driving forward-thinking solutions, or cultivating a welcoming and collaborative environment, these awards provide us with a meaningful opportunity to pause, express our gratitude, and honor those who help Wake Forest flourish.
