Former faculty member Shawn Arthur has passed away

The University recently learned that Shawn Arthur passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026. Shawn served the University for six years as a visiting assistant professor in the Department for the Study of Religions.

The Wake Forest community extends its condolences to Shawn’s family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Knoxville, TN. An obituary is available here.
