Fall move-in volunteers needed Aug. 14 & 18
This message is shared on behalf of Zach Blackmon, Director of Operations, Residence Life and Housing.
Dear Colleagues,
I hope you are well and looking ahead to a restorative summer. As we wrap up welcoming our admitted students for Campus Day, our team is already hard at work planning for their welcome back to campus in August! We invite you to join us in welcoming our newest Demon Deacons to their home in The Forest — your presence makes a meaningful difference.
Pre-Orientation Move-In is Friday, Aug. 14, and New Student Move-In is Tuesday, Aug. 18.
Move-in marks the beginning of each student’s journey into The Forest and the broader Wake Forest community. This day is more than logistics — it’s about connection, belonging, and setting the tone for how we care for one another.

Why It Matters
Move-in is often a student and their family’s first engagement with campus life at Wake Forest. The care, energy, and engagement you bring help shape that moment. A warm welcome can ease uncertainty, build confidence, and foster a strong sense of belonging within The Forest.
What to Expect
Move-in is a coordinated, campuswide effort to support students and families as they arrive. Volunteers help to:
- Welcome students and families
- Assist with unloading and moving belongings
- Support student volunteers throughout the process
- Help create a smooth, organized, and caring environment
Volunteer Sign-Up

Delivering the warm welcome Wake Forest is known for depends on volunteers from across campus. This year, both move-in dates are scheduled during the workweek to make participation more accessible.
