Wake Forest will test its emergency alert systems on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 9 a.m. The tests are required to ensure that the University’s emergency notifications are operating properly.

No action is required. University Police and the marketing and communications office will conduct the testing.

Emergency alert testing includes:

  • Text message to registered mobile phone numbers
  • Email notification
  • Voice calls to registered phone numbers
  • Alert messages on computers, laptops, and digital signage displays around campus
  • Wake Safe app notification
  • Wake Alert website post
  • Social posts on the Wake Alert X and Facebook pages

The outdoor emergency alert system will also be tested.

By regularly testing our emergency alert system, the University can better prepare to respond to emergencies and keep our campus community safe. Consider downloading the Wake Safe App to receive alerts and access safety resources on your mobile phone. In addition, the Wake Alert website is the primary information source during an emergency at Wake Forest

If you have any questions or concerns about emergency alert testing, please contact police@wfu.edu.
