Staff member Rick Davis has passed away

Rick Davis passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2025. Rick served as supervisor of custodial services with Facilities and dedicated 13 years of service to the University.  

“Rick was a true leader and a hard worker who was dedicated to the well-being of his colleagues and the students he helped to care for,” said Nathan Durrell, associate director of Custodial and Waste Services. “From the team that he led to his peers and coworkers across the University, Rick represented stability and strong judgment that we all relied on for many years.  Rick will be missed as a coworker and as a friend by many across Wake Forest.” 

The Wake Forest community extends our condolences to Rick’s family and friends. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025,at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Hooper Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30–1 p.m. An obituary can be found here.
