A Wake Forest University Press title was recently featured in a two-part Irish-language book review in The Irish Times. Writer and scholar Alan Titley praised Bone and Marrow / Cnámh agus Smior: An Anthology of Irish Poetry from Medieval to Modern (Wake Forest University Press, 2022): “This book … is not only a sign of joy, of homage, of commemoration and of recognition, but it is a joyful expression of the voice of Ireland over the past fifteen hundred years.” In Part 2, he concludes with, “A big shout out to Wake Forest University Press who have been standing firm and trumpeting the cause of Irish literature in the United States and beyond.”

Bone and Marrow Cnámh agus Smior, edited by Samuel K. Fisher (Catholic University of America) and Brian Ó Conchubhair (Notre Dame), is a nearly 1000-page bilingual anthology in Irish and English, compiled by a team of 24 international scholars. It is the most comprehensive anthology of its kind since An Duanaire, 1600-1900: Poems of the Dispossessed (1981), edited by Seán Ó Tuama and translated by Thomas Kinsella.
